Chenus ridge at 2,240 m above the Courchevel ‘bowl’ with the Verdons gondola top station and Saulire telecabin bottom station in the foreground and Courchevel altiport in the background.
Courchevel altiport, at an altitude of 2,010 m with a runway just 537 m long, is counted among the world’s toughest airports to land at. We have seen a few interesting landings, and it’s certainly not for the faint-hearted. Pilots are required to maintain a special rating to land here.

View from the Bouc Blanc restaurant above La Tania up towards Col de la Loze and Chenus ridge. The camera shows the top station of the La Tania gondola in the foreground and the Forêt chair (from Le Praz) top station in the background. You can also see the race piste for the 2023 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships passing between these two top stations.
